-Raise tobacco Tax- Lower Death and Disease- is the Theme of World No Tobacco Day 2014. And Nepal Cancer Support Group ( NCSG) working very actively to lower Cancer Deaths and to reduce Cancer risk among the Nepali men and women organizing various cancer awareness and cancer detection and screening programs in different parts of the country. On the observance of the day on 30 and 31 May NCSG organized various programs in Kathmandu and neighboring district. NCSG's first program was a Talk and Interaction Program on the theme. It was organized at Changu Narayan Higher Secondary School, Duwakot, Bhaktapur. NCSG's Vice President Dilip Bhattarai was the program coordinator. More than 200 students, teachers and representatives of local NGOs attended the program. Vice Prsident and Program Coordinator Dilip Bhattarai spoke on the theme and Senior Radiation Oncologist and NCSG Adviser Dr. Gisup Prasiko had power point presentation on Tobacco and Cancer. The program was chaired by Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma, Principal, Changu Narayan H.S.S. Mr. Shasank Sharma, General Secretary performed as Master of Ceremony. Mr. Ganesh Bhakta Shrestha, Treasurer and Mr. Rajesh Twanabasu , Life Member NCSG also participated in the program. NCSG is very much grateful to Mr. Sujan Neupane, Local Social Activist for his great contribution to make the program outstanding success. Besides this main program there were lots of Television and Radio Programs. President, Dr. Sudip Shrestha, Vice President Dr. Bijesh Raj Ghimire, Vice president Dilip Bhattarai and Dr. Ambuj Karna were invited for television and radio interviews.
